Snoop Dogg is a Man Who Gives Back

Snoop Dogg has been nominated for 15 Grammys and sold over 30 million records. He’s a man of many names including: Snoop Doggy, Snoop Dogg, DJ Snoopadelic, Snoop Lion and most recently as Snoopzilla. But, to a group of kids, he’s known simply as “Coach.”

Snoop Dogg started his own football league for kids in 2005 as an opportunity to teach inner-city kids the benefits of teamwork, discipline, and emphasize the importance of academics. “It’s meant more to me than a Grammy or any music accolade. When I started my football league, kids weren’t going to high school,” says Snoop Dogg. “They made bad decisions when they turned 13 or 14. Now, kids in my football league, they love playing football, they want to go to high school, they want to go to college. So there’s things that they aspire to be.”

Snoop Dogg is also a big supporter in the company, Dog for Dog, a Santa Monica-based company that donates a bag of food to shelters for every bag they sell. You save a dog’s life. “I’ve always been a big dog lover,” says Snoop Dogg. “The company had a genuine idea that I thought was great. And they donate food now all over the world.”

Dog for Dog surprised Snoop Dog by donating one bag of food for each person in The Queen Latifah Show audience, “Even if you don’t have a dog, donating is so beautiful,” says Snoop Dogg. “You and the audience will save the lives of 250 dogs.”
