Richard Sherman grew up on the tough streets of Compton. After graduating salutatorian (second in his class) and with a 4.2 GPA from high school, he headed to Stanford University where he graduated with a degree in communication. His skills on the football filed landed him a spot on the Seattle Seahawks, who just won the Super Bowl.
It was following the NFC Championship game that the All Pro cornerback made headlines following an emotional post-game interview. Many took to Twitter to criticize Sherman’s outspoken nature, one small Seahawks fan described Richard Sherman the best way he knew how.

Richard was so moved by 6-year-old Nikolas’ letter that he retweeted it to his nearly one million followers, “It really touched me because I felt like this little kid got me. He understood that I’m not a bad guy.”
Richard wanted to surprise Nikolas and 10-year-old fellow Seahawks superfan Lucy in person on the show, and with the help of Queen Latifah both kids had no idea they were about to meet their hero.
