Scott Caan is a Golden Globe-nominated actor who has appeared in the blockbuster Ocean 11 movies and the hit HBO series Entourage. And just finished up his fourth season in the CBS show Hawaii Five-0.
Scott has surfed since he was a kid growing up in Southern California, so surfing while shooting and working in Hawaii has “been like my release. It’s a lot more dangerous than doing it in Los Angeles, but that’s what makes it more fun for me. I’ve tried dragging Alex out with me to show him how to really surf, but because he’s got kids now, we don’t get out as often together as I’d like.”
Scott mixes his love of surfing with his passion for helping others with A Walk On Water (AWOW), which provides water therapy through guided surf instruction to special needs children while also supporting their family – what they coined as “surf therapy.”
Over 200 special needs children and families experience the thrill of surfing and its therapeutic qualities each year through AWOW. Majority of the events are held at Bulito Beach, “The Ranch,” in Santa Barbara, CA, and exists largely because of the amazing volunteers and financial support of their generous donors. These volunteers share a respect for their fellow man, the ocean and environment and most importantly: people in need. Our events are meant to raise awareness not only to humanitarian needs, but environmental as well.
And don’t miss Scott Caan in the season finale of Hawaii Five-0 Friday at 9 PM on CBS.
